I’ve never really had a hobby

I’ve never really had a hobby that stood out from the crowd. I’ve always stuck to the basics: watching movies, reading books, and listening to music. Honestly, I don't even know if you can call those "hobbies," since pretty much everyone does them for entertainment on some level.

When I was a teenager, I used to collect rocks that caught my eye because of an interesting shape or texture—mostly crystals. My family actually thought I was going to end up becoming a geologist! But I dropped the habit pretty quickly when I realized how weird it was to have my room cluttered with random "pretty rocks" I’d picked up off the ground.

These days, the one hobby in my life that breaks out of that usual "music, movies, and books" trifecta is writing on this blog. And I have to admit, it’s my absolute favorite right now.

I see people talking about gaming, collecting miniatures, crafting, playing sports, and all that stuff... but I’ve never really had one of those traditional, classic hobbies.

One thing I’d love to get into, though, is joining a gun range—learning how to shoot and dropping by the range every now and then to practice, just like in action movies. My brother-in-law goes to one down in Rio, and I think it’s fascinating. Plus, knowing your way around firearms seems genuinely useful.

Who knows? Maybe down the road I’ll sign up for a membership at a local range around here and finally pick up a new hobby besides writing for this blog.
